Whether you live far or near, we will coordinate moving you, a loved one or friend from a home, apartment, condo, senior community, etc. to a different location. This may require downsizing. We begin with a complimentary consultation. Our staff is available to assist you on short notice or for a move date in the distant future. Service to de-clutter and/or organize within a residence without a move is also available. Telephone and email consultations can assist those who are busy and/or out of town. We offer advice and support to help keep things under control, allowing you to use your time and money to your best advantage.
PLANNING
- Complimentary one-hour consultation
- Assessment of the space in new residence
- Thorough assessment of client needs (measuring and photographing)
- Creation of a moving plan and timeline
- Receipt of a floor plan of the new space and a written estimate for services
- Finalization of client agreement
MOVING PREPARATION
- Photographing rooms, walls, curio cabinets, etc. for future relocation use
- Creating a home inventory (if needed)
- Sorting contents
- Packing and labelling items for: moving, selling, donating, shipping, etc.
- Coordinating shipping and storage of items
- Providing options to the client for distributing unwanted items
- Arranging for an estate sale, consignment, donations, auction, appraising
- Discarding items upon client approval
- Providing boxes, tape and wrapping materials (no charge if we receive boxes and paper back)
- Handling address changes for U.S. mail, utilities, publications, etc.
- Coordinating outiside contractor services as needed, i.e., movers, shredding, etc
MOVING DAY
- Moving day prep: final check, food / personal items / medications / pets
- Directing and supervising movers
- Unpacking items and placing them in their proper places, i.e. drawers, cabinets
- Removing moving materials
- Leveling, arranging, and polishing furniture
- Placing items in the new residence in an aesthetically-pleasing and safe manner
- Making the beds, hanging artwork and draperies
- Connecting phones, TVs, lamps, computers, clocks
ADDITIONAL SERVICES AVAILABLE
- Orientation, follow-up in new residence with client
- Removing items from an off-site storage unit
- Proper recycling of unwanted items and/or hazardous materials
- Arrange free pick up of unwanted appliances
- Moving items to storage, a store/donation facility/auction house, etc.
- Provide additional decorating, storage ideas (i.e. purchasing, ordering)
- Preparing a residence for sale; coordinating services in either residence
- Providing resources upon request (these could include businesses, support services, websites, etc.)
- Consult with family members with progress reports
- Arranging for a house-warming party
- Any additional services to support you through the transition process
- Clean outs
- Public speaking engagements on downsizing/moving for public, professionals, groups
